Roommates

Parker has taken on the responsibility of taking care of Winston. If he wakes up, he always gets him out of bed and tries to make him feel better. Keith and I have to rush when he makes a noise at night because we know Parker will get up and try to help. It can be a little unsettling to see your 6 year old lugging an eighteen pound baby down the stairs at 2:00 in the morning. Well tonight, Winston obviously made just enough noise that Parker felt like he could get him out of the bed. When I came to check on them, they were both enjoying themselves so much I had to take a picture.

Winston's Baby Dedication

January 18th- we had Winston's baby dedication today at church. It was such a beautiful sermon focused on the sanctity of life. Babies are truly a blessing from God. Keith and I are so fortunate to have the priviledge of raising four precious boys. I pray that we both will be able to point them in the right direction and that all of them will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior one day. We covet your prayers in this process.

I truly have never seen a baby move like this and thought all of you would like a good laugh as well. We love our little guy and already realize he is his own self.

Auburn game

The family all went to the Auburn vs. A&M basketball game recently. We got to go and visit our old stomping ground and friends. After seeing old house and seeing our old church, we got to go eat with some very close friends of ours. The neat thing is that is job involves being over all of the athlectic facilities. So he took the boys to see the Auburn lockerroom. I do not believe I have ever seen shoes that were so big.

Christmas 2008

Wow! The holidays have flown by. The boys have enjoyed everything, I think. Keith and I are tired, but enjoyed being together as well. Keith has been off since before Christmas so the boys love having their playmate and climbing post around so much. I will share some pictures so you can see the excitement.

Elf on the shelf

We have had a new visitor to our family this holiday season. He arrived Sunday night wrapped in a pretty bag for the boys. After reading the book, The Elf On the Shelf, the boys came up with a rather creative name for their elf. His name is NOSWAD. Which incase anyone wonders where they came up with this name, it is Dawson (who is a good friend of all the boys) name backwards. Sorry, his name was the funniest out of all their friends so Dawson won the name game. Noswad watches the boys throughout the day to see how they are behaving. Then at night he flies to the north pole and lets Santa know the outcome. By the morning, he is back at our house hidden in a new place for another day of watching. We are enjoying Noswad's company.

Special Birthday

This morning I awoke to a tray filled with delicious breakfast foods and cards from every boy in the family. Wil woke up at 5:00 this morning and set to work. He had to wake up Daddy to have a little help, but for the most part, he planned and made it all come together. He even created a lovely card with drawings of each of his brothers. I wanted to cry it was all so sweet.

My loving dad found a coupon for Protrait Innovations in Atlanta. It took us forever to find the place, and then had to wait for over an hour even with an appointment, but the pictures turned out wonderfully. I am sending just a few of my favorites.

Learning to eat

Well, we have tried it. Winston is definitely not sure what to do with cereal yet. He did not like it at all at first, but once we added a little apple sauce to the mix, he seemed to enjoy it a little better.

Moonsand

Moonsand is the greatest, except for clean up. The boys love playing with it. Even Win likes to get involved.

Tournament life

Wow!! My family has just entered the tournament life. Wil made the Troy Allstars soccer team this year. We were very proud of him. For not being an aggressive child, he does a wonderful job on the field and does not seem to be afraid (like I would). You would never catch me charging someone that was just about to kick the "fire" out of a ball. Anyway, the team played in Andalusia this weekend and were the runner-ups. The team earned a trophy and handled themselves extremely well. Troy should be proud out how all our players and parents acted. Fall Festival

Well, this year the kids chose costumes from all different areas. Wil was our Stars war fan and went as Luke Skywalker, Parker wanted to be "Aubie" (thank you Mike), Tal was Buzz Lightyear and Winston saved the day by being Superman. They all had a wonderful time and ended up with way too much candy, as usual.

Laughter brings healing

Winston and I are in Atlanta with my parents while my mother had surgery. My sweet mother-in-law is watching the other three boys. I think Winston likes being the center of attention right now. He has smiled and laughed and learned all types of new tricks. Today he rolled over from his back to his stomach.

Soccer

Wow! What can you say?! We have been going strong with our soccer season. All three older boys are playing this year. Parker and Tal are both on the Allstars team while Wil is a Tornado. Both teams are doing an excellent job with all three boys learning and improving their skills. Tal was sooooo excited this past week. He keeps telling everyone he used his chest to stop one of the balls. Parker stays extremely intense through the entire game which in turn causes us to have some breathting problems later at night, but he would not have it any other way. Wil is learning how to dribble the ball and actually doing some good passing shots. Winston is always along for the ride.

The boys wanted to sleep in their sleeping bags tonight so they do not have to make their beds in the morning. We will see how this goes. By the way, we will not leave Winston.

Good Byes to Lin

Our family has truly been blessed by a wonderful guy we know as Lin. He come to the university on a 1-2-1 program from China. We met him on his very first week to Alabama at the Troy football stadium. I think we amazed him with the boys (three at the time) running around. I don't think he had ever seen 3 siblings before. During the last two years, our family has become close. He spent most every holiday, vacation, and even lived with us for awhile. He introduced many American traditions to him as well as American food (where is has gained 40 pounds in these two years). He tried to teach us Chinese, but we were not as good of students as he was. The boys call him Win-the-bean, well, Tal was learning to talk in the last two years and Win is what came out. We were able to watch this young man become a Christian and learn to share his faith with others. He is a remarkable guy. We had to say good-bye to him on August 6th for him to go back to China and finish his college degree. We are extremely proud of him and hope to see his again in the future.

Well, if you move anything in this house, you might never find it again. Anyway, life with four has been fun to say the least. The boys have definately taken a hands-on approach to Winston "Lil' Win." I can already tell Winston loves his brothers to talk to him.

Little "Win" has arrived!!! He was born on July 1st at 12:24pm. He weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. We are all really excited and feel extremely blessed.

World's Best Husband

Our tee ball team Friday night had met early before the game to take pictures. You can imagine having an extra 40 minutes or so to entertain. Keith decided to keep their attention by playing a few games. I think I was smiling bigger than any of the kids. I truly am blessed with a great man.

Running the Bases

The family had the opportunity to go to the Braves game on April 6th. HOW MUCH FUN!!!! It was family day and the boys got to run the bases. We sat right off of 3rd base and even came close to catching a foul ball. It was an exciting day to say the least.

Melt your heart

After a long morning of work and chores, the boys had sometime to themselves. I came up to the playroom to check on everyone to catch my oldest reading to my youngest (without even having to be asked). The boys and I arrived at my parents today and they took us to the greatest restaurant, at least according to the kids. The "magic man" was there making hats and doing tricks using balls and cards. It was Great entertainment as we waited for our dinner.

Upward Basketball

We were so proud of both of our boys that played in Upward Basketball this year. Wil and Parker had a great time and truly learned more about being a witness for Christ even on the court.

We found out the baby is another boy and are extremely excited. The other boys had already informed us that if the baby was not a boy, she would not be allowed to live with them. The name is Winston Daniel named after his two granddads.

I was looking through all of the Christmas pictures and came across one that just made me smile. Isn't it great to have such close cousins! My side of the family is extremely small. I have never met one of my cousins, don't worry mom and dad, I do not feel deprived. My boys have the good fortune to be close to all of their cousins and absolutely love to play with all of them, even you Mary Helen who has grown up and gone off to college. I thought I would send some pictures of all these cousins. We also have our cousins to thank for teaching us such wonderful uplifting songs. In case you wondered, yes, that is my 3 year old singing, Now we've got the funk.

Christmas sweetness

My loving husband and oldest son, Wil, sang the song Christmas Shoes for our Christmas Eve services at our church. Wil had never done anything where he is in the "spotlight" before. I was extremely proud of both my boys for sharing their love and talents God has given them. Hopefully the clip of them singing will play for you.
